  Terible!!! I had a black and white wrongful termination case against my employer (age discrimination). Even at the pre-trial hearing, the judge suggested that the defendant settle before trial. Mr. Schatkin screwed up the defendant's summary judgement, that the same judge through the case out without Schatkin even answering the (second part) of the summary judgement. A little after a year after I tried to appeal, another attorney I knew looked at the case and he suggested I sue Schatkin for malpractice...he was dead serious. The only reason I used Schatkin is because I did not have a lot of money to retain a " real attorney" and I used AARP to locate one for me. I got Schatkin.Prior to using Schatkin (because the magistrate judge suggested it vehemently) I was handling the case Pro Se. That is when every one who looked at the case saw it as the facts in black and white. The defending attorneys spun the facts of course and Schatkin never responded. Although he was the least expensive initially, he offered to appeal for me...fo more than the original retainer fee. He was charging ridiculous fees for "copies" and I was able to obtain coies of the entire case for about literally one 20th his price. Unfortunately at the time I needed to appeal, I informed Schatkin I did not have the money for him immediately. He then went to court and closed the case. I lost eveything and the defending attorneys wanted me to pay their court fees. Mr. Schatkin is NOT a good attorney as I studied many case studies and had to make him aware of particular situations and cases similar to mine. He deposed the man who teminated me and caught him in several lies and did noting with that information. Do yourself a favor. If you need an attorney for a labor dispute, find the extra money some how and get a real attorney. Do NOT! I repeat...do NOT use Andrew Schatkin!!!!
